Tuli gasped as she stared at the booties.
I smiled and sat down, picking one of them up. "Yeah, I:m having a baby."
She gulped. "But, isn't it dangerous? Your health isn't the best."
I rubbed my stomach. "I know, but I am taking care of myself."
Tuli smiled. "You better. That said, I know you married, but I didn't think your husband and you would move so fast."
I blushed. "Saffron was leaving on a mission after we married, so I wanted to consummate our marriage before then."
My cousin sighed. "Rose, did you pressure yourself to sleep with him?"
"I-it wasn't like that."
She sighed again.
Tulia reached out and placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Rose, it's okay. You don't have to explain anything to me. I just want you to be happy and healthy."
My gaze dropped to the floor, my fingers nervously fidgeting with the hem of her blouse. "I just... I wanted to get close to my husband before he left."
