I raised my glass of wine and smiled as I sat down at my desk. Turning my chair around, I stared at the ruined base. Those Taahidian scum had yet to pay the price, but they sure would. If not via blood, then economically. I would surely crush them for daring to attack my territory.
A smile dotted my face as I thought of that marine, the husband of my ex. He claimed Rosemary destroyed a dragon. Surely, that peon was lying.
I stirred the wine in my glass around. But if he was not, then I let go a lot of power. I put the glass of wine down. Certainly, that girl could've done better, though. Going from me to that military lapdog. It was unpalpable. There had to be more to their marriage. Rose was always shy. If she weren't, she would have confessed to Kisara's older brother back when she was in love with him.
"Sir," my secretary, Alicia, said, entering.
I sighed. "Alicia, what have I said about knocking."
