*Gael*
After about seven hours of driving, we stopped at a hotel. It was one of those rundown ones near the highway. The place looked like it had seen better days.
"Couldn't we have gotten a place in the capital? A fancy one like the one we stayed at back in Taisho?" Milo asked, glancing at the building.
"It would've cost more," Koyuki responded. "And the budget didn't allow for that. Not after our stay in Taisho."
He sighed. "Yeah, I know, but we still could've gotten a nicer place."
Koyuki frowned and turned to look at him. "Like where?"
"I don't know." He looked down and sighed again. "But I'm sure there was a nicer place than this dump. It probably has rats."
She shivered. "Y-you really think so?"
Griff patted his daughter's back and laughed. "If there are any, you can leave them to your old man! I'll freeze 'em!"
She smiled and hugged him. "Thanks, Dad. I'll leave them to you."
