I smiled as Anis played with her cousins at my own cousins' house.
"Hey, if ya wanna spend some alone time together, now is a good time," Alli said, a mischievous grin spreading across her face.
I raised an eyebrow, trying to suppress a chuckle. "You think so? What if she starts crying the moment we leave?"
Major Kisara laughed as she walked over, her presence commanding yet warm. "Indeed. Go have some fun. All of us will watch over the little one here."
Orlin, sitting on the floor with his sons and nieces, chimed in with a smile. "Yeah, we'll watch over little Anis. You two go on and enjoy yourselves."
I glanced at Anis, who was engrossed in her games, her little hands reaching for Yukira as she and my brother built a ramp with bricks for his toy car. She was safe, and I could see the joy in her eyes. Maybe a little time away wouldn't hurt.
