Saffron PoV
Rose sat on the rocking chair as soon as the three of us got home.
She rocked Anis who had fallen asleep on the way.
My wife smiled slightly, but her eyes were a somber as mine.
"Do you think she'll be okay?" Rose asked softly, her gaze drifting down to the sleeping baby in her arms.
I walked over, placing a hand on her shoulder, trying to offer some comfort. "She's strong, Rose. Just like you. We'll get through this together."
Rose nodded but still looked troubled. After a moment, she lifted her eyes to meet mine, a hint of vulnerability in her expression. "Can Anis sleep between us tonight?"
I hesitated for just a moment, considering the implications. But looking at her, I could see the need for closeness, for comfort. "Yeah, I think that would be nice," I replied, nodding slightly. "She'll feel safer with us close by."
