Saffron PoV
Rose smiled and blew on Anis's oatmeal as I finished up our pancakes. The warm, inviting aroma filled the kitchen. My brother could probably smell it all the way from Ma's place.
"Careful now, sweet girl," Rose said gently, ensuring Anis's little mouth didn't get burned. Anis wiggled with excitement in anticipation for her oatmeal.
Just as I was about to set the last pancake on the stack, I caught a glimpse of movement outside through the kitchen window. I noticed Sil rushing toward our house, his little legs pumping furiously.
"Hey, Rose," I called out, chuckling slightly. "Looks like Sil is on a mission."
Rose turned her head and squinted toward the window, her expression shifting into one of curiosity. "What's he up to?" she asked, a hint of amusement in her voice.
