I sighed. Despite originally serving her because of the tiara, I gradually got used to Mei.
"Master, you okay?" Yukito asked, glancing at me.
I nodded. "Yeah, was just reminiscing."
Koyuki, who had been quietly observing, perked up. "What were you reminiscing about?" she asked, her tone light but genuinely interested. "You looked deep in thought."
I leaned back in my chair, recalling the memories that had drifted to the surface. "Just thinking about one of my students from the Universe I grew up."
"Xeleria?"
I nodded. "Yeah, she lived in a small country called Xian. She was the one who released me from my confines."
Yukito gasped. "Wait, I thought it was the Xian who sealed you in the first place."
I nodded again, a bittersweet smile forming on my lips. "Yeah, but it was one of them who released me too. It's complicated. The people of Xian had their reasons for sealing me away."
