"In Lala-land? " A voice from the other end of the room spoke up. I turned towards them and saw a familiar figure, an officer in the same uniform as me.
I glanced up to see a muscular man of average height. His hair had hair as black as charcoal, but with red tips, and a red mustache and matching beard. His eyes were a golden-brown color, like honey.
"Oh, hey, Major Kajihiro," I said, forcing a smile.
"Something the matter, Major Kine?" my comrade asked, tilting his head to the right. "You seem out of it today."
I laughed dryly. "Just paperwork." I was pretty much swamped in the stuff. It made my desk look like a mini mountain range.
Major Kajihiro chuckled as he peered into my office. "It sure looks like they buried you in a wall of paper! It's amazing that you're not going mad."
