I sighed as we finished cleaning up Elyss's mess.
"Thanks for helping," Elyss said as she clung to her notes. Captain Saffron gave her a stern scolding earlier. Gael even hid and he wasn't the one in trouble this time.
"Elyss, you really need to be more careful," I said, patting her lightly on the shoulder. "You can't just experiment with things you don't fully understand. It's dangerous!"
She sighed, her shoulders slumping slightly. "I know, but I still think the abyss holds the key to solving our future energy issues—and even medical issues too."
I raised an eyebrow, a mix of concern and curiosity. "That place is full of unknowns, Elyss. You can't just use things associated with it without knowing what you're dealing with. You've seen the consequences. You opened a portal into that realm. If we weren't here, you and your fellow scientists might've died."
