Days had passed. I watched as Sil and Alli played with their little niece. Anis giggled as Sil pretended to drive a car.
"We need to look out for obstacles!" Sil said, his voice animated as he swerved dramatically to avoid imaginary traffic cones.
Anis gooed, her little face serious, trying to mimic the concentration she saw on Sil's face. I couldn't help but giggle at the sight—her tiny brows furrowed in determination made her look so grown-up in that moment.
"Vroom vroom!" Sil revved his imaginary engine, bouncing slightly in place. "Hold on tight, Anis! We're gonna speed past the park!"
Anis clapped her hands, excitement bubbling up as she swayed back and forth in her seat, her little legs kicking in delight. "Goo!" she cheered, her voice a delightful mix of giggles and coos.
"Okay, okay! But we gotta be careful!" Sil said, feigning seriousness now. "We don't want to get pulled over by the police!"
