With a renewed sense of urgency, I exchanged a glance with Gael, and we lunged forward, pushing our way through the throng of shadowy creatures. The air around us crackled with tension as the enemies closed in, their chains clanking ominously.
"Let's split up! We can cover more ground that way!" I shouted over the din, quickly assessing our options. "I'll take the left flank!"
"Got it! I'll cover the right! Just keep an eye on those eyes!" Gael called back, determination etched on his face.
I dashed to the left, dodging the outstretched chains as I moved, firing blasts from my cannon at the approaching creatures. Each shot struck true, but they seemed to absorb the energy, their forms rippling as they advanced. I had to find a way to exploit their weaknesses before we were overwhelmed.
