"You should get some sleep," I whispered to my wife. Her purple eyes were still on our slumbering baby girl.
Anis was still snoozing away, tired from her day at the park.
Rose closed her eyes. "I- I was starting to think maybe she could avoid my fate."
"Your fate?" I asked, tilting my head slightly.
She sighed. "Growing up, I couldn't really join my brother, cousins, and our friends due to my illness." Rose gripped her heart, her hand shaking.
I felt a pang in my chest at her words.
"It was hard," she continued, her voice trembling slightly. "I always felt like I was missing out on so much. I wanted to be a part of everything, but my body wouldn't let me."
I reached over, taking her hand in mine, wanting to provide comfort.
Rose smiled faintly, but I could see the sadness still lingering in her eyes. "I just want her to have a normal childhood, to run around and play without any limitations."
