I watched as Rose smiled and hugged her dad. Although my worries persisted. People didn't simply change overnight. Granted, he could've been changing over the past year, but did people truly change that fast?
As much as I wanted to believe in this new version of King Kohei, the skeptic in me couldn't help but question his motives. Was this genuine remorse and a desire for reconciliation, or was there something else driving his sudden change of heart?
I gently bounced Anis in my arms, her giggles a soothing balm to my troubled thoughts. She deserved to grow up surrounded by love and support, free from the shadows of past hurts and betrayals. And I would do everything in my power to ensure that.
"Thank you for coming, Father," Rose said, her voice filled with emotion. "It means a lot to me."
Kohei nodded, his expression softening as he looked at her. "I should have come sooner, Rose. I'm sorry for the pain I've caused."
