Rosemary's PoV
I leaned my head against Saffron's shoulder as he carried me back home, exhaustion weighing down my every step. The relief of knowing Anis was in good hands with Dahlia allowed me to let my guard down, and I could feel my body finally giving in to the fatigue.
As we crossed the dirt road back to our little house, I looked up at Saffron's face. His concern was evident, but so was his determination. He had always been my rock, and today was no different.
"Thank you," I murmured softly, my voice barely a whisper.
Saffron glanced down at me, his eyes warm and filled with love. "You don't have to thank me, Rose. Remember, we're husband and wife. We have to help each other out."
I nodded, feeling a lump form in my throat. The stress of the past weeks had taken its toll, and I felt tears threatening to spill over. But I held them back, not wanting to add to Saffron's worries.
