Rosemary's PoV
My brother, Koyuki, and their kids departed back to the north. Koyuki wanted to see her parents again. And with Saffron here, I didn't really need Tasuku to watch over me anymore. Although I would miss him. Hopefully, they and the kids would visit soon. I'd grown close to them.
Saffron was reading to our little girl, Anis, in the living room. Her frail frame was nestled comfortably in her dad's arms, her tiny eyes wide with wonder as she listened to her father's soothing voice.
I stood in the doorway, watching them with a smile on my face. The sight of Saffron, with his stoic, yet gentle demeanor, always filled me with warmth. He had been my rock through several hardships, and seeing him with Anis reminded me of just how lucky we were to have him in our lives.
Saffron glanced up and caught my eye, his lips curling into a soft smile. "Did Koyuki and Tasuku leave already?" he asked, his voice low so as not to disturb Anis.
