Yukira yawned as she woke up, her small body stretching between me and her mommy. She blinked sleepily, her eyes still heavy with remnants of dreams. Since the attack, she and my other kids had wanted to stay close to me, seeking the comfort and security of family.
Abby and Hinata slumbered on the floor. While Abby slept normally, Hinata had his arms spread wide as he snored softly, completely oblivious to the world around him. His peaceful, carefree state brought a smile to my face.
"He's just like me," Milo said, snickering in our shared mindscape. His presence was a constant, comforting reminder of our bond.
"Good morning, Yukira," I whispered, my voice gentle as I brushed a strand of hair from her face.
"Morning, Daddy," she mumbled, snuggling closer to me. Her warmth and trust filled my heart with a profound sense of love and responsibility.
