Rosemary PoV
As I rested in the sofa of Milo's place, I heard a knock on the door.
"I'll get it," Dahlia said before I even got a chance to stand up. She opened the door and smiled. "Hey, Son. You're back."
Saffron stepped in and smiled weakly. His smile looked pained.
Dahlia seemed to notice too as she grabbed him by the arm and escorted him over to the sofa where I sat.
As soon as Dahlia sat Saffron down in the sofa, I could see the weariness etched into every line of his face. His eyes met mine, and the concern in his gaze mirrored my own. I stood up and wrapped my arms around him, feeling the tension in his body melt away as he held me close.
"Rose," he whispered, his voice heavy with exhaustion and pain. "Are you okay?"
I pulled back slightly, searching his face for any signs of injury. "I'm fine, Saffron. But what about you? Are you okay? You look exhausted and... pained."
