Orlin
[Meanwhile at the Castle]
My entire body ached even after hours of sleep. Was this how an elderly non-angel felt?
I turned and saw Artemia sleeping against the bed, her head resting on the edge. Her face was peaceful, despite the discomfort of her position.
Sighing, I patted her head gently. My face warmed up. "You didn't have to sleep there, silly. We're married now."
Wait, were we actually married? We did our vows, but we didn't get to put rings on one another before we were rudely interrupted.
I sat up slowly, trying not to disturb Artemia, but the movement made her stir. She blinked a few times before her eyes focused on me.
"Orlin," she said softly, a smile spreading across her face. "You're awake."
"Yeah," I replied, returning her smile. "How long was I out?"
"All night," she said, stretching her arms above her head. "You needed the rest after everything that happened."
