Orlin and I managed to push back several of the attackers, but progress was slow. Very slow. The roots kept coming, and the toxic gas clouded our vision, making every step a treacherous ordeal. My blade cut through another root, but I knew we needed to do more than just hold the line.
I glanced over at Kisara, Kine, and Artemia, who were fiercely engaged in battle against several other infiltrators. Their movements were a blur of coordinated strikes and defensive maneuvers, but the sheer number of enemies made it difficult for them to gain any ground.
How had some many of them gotten in? Was there an insider helping them?
If only the issue was sheer numbers. They weren't only plentiful, but highly skilled as well. If not, we would've already force most of them out of the castle grounds.
"Orlin, we need to push harder! We need to help them before they get overwhelmed!" I shouted over the cacophony of battle, my voice strained with urgency.
