I smiled as Artemia helped me put on my wedding dress. It was almost time for Regi and me to tie the knot.
"It's so pretty. I can't wait for my own wedding with Orlin," Artemia said, giggling.
I smiled. "Hopefully, it'll go well."
Artemia tilted her head. "D-do you think something bad might happen?"
I crossed my arms over my chest. "Well, it's possible. You are marrying my cousin, the crown prince. It's possible my cousins could have something planned."
She gulped. "You mean, the Kasai no Ki?"
"Yes." I sighed and turned to look at myself in the mirror. "My pa's clan hates my mother's clan, and vice versa." I gulped. "It's why my family is considered a pariah in both nations. For a Kuroriku princess to marry a Kasai no Ki prince... it's a tale as old as time. But one filled with a lot of hardship. Ma knew what she was getting into when she married my pa. Likewise for Pa."
