Kaze pov
I chuckled as I patted the now clear blue crystal on my desk. That silly prince. I bit my lip. He obviously put the stone on speech only at first because he knew how I would react.
He might've had autism, but contrary to the stereotype, he was very aware of others. Almost to a scary degree. While he did miss obvious things here and there, he could see things in people that most couldn't.
It was always a double-edged sword, his unique perception. He could be disarmingly perceptive about people's feelings and intentions, often catching them off-guard. Yet, in social situations, he could be so literal or focused on details that others found insignificant, leading to misunderstandings or awkward moments. But that's what made Hide so endearing to me. He was unapologetically himself, quirks and all.
