I sighed as I walked out of the post office. I had forgotten to send my letter to Rosemary until now. After adding a few more things, I finally sent it. Hopefully, she wouldn't think I had forgotten her. I sighed again. Major Kine had suggested I stay home longer, but at times like this, I couldn't afford to. If I had stayed, my companions might have died on this mission.
"Finally sent it?" Milo asked, smiling slightly.
I nodded. "Let's return to the base."
He followed me. "Say, do you really just like your wife because she's pretty?"
"Now's not the time, Milo," I said, mildly annoyed he brought that up again. The mission was about to start tomorrow. I couldn't afford being distracted.
"Think Uneri will return on time?"
Good, he changed the subject. "I'm not sure, but I can only hope so."
*Uneri*
I glanced outside the plane and sighed as I looked down at the large city situated in the middle of a rich oasis.
