I glanced back at Saffron as he boarded the train for Taisho. Did he really think he had won Rosemary's heart? That guy had basically purchased her hand in marriage. Being way for so long, the chances Rose would fall for him were low.
Rose wasn't like other girls, shallow. If she were, then she probably would've seen that peasant as nothing more than a past time. He had nothing of value to offer her.
"Sir, why were you trying to rile up that man?" Roxanne asked as I joined her.
"That guy is really irksome, that's why. He dared talk about to me before. He acts like he owns the world but he is nothing more than a dog of King Kohei."
Roxanne hummed. "You are sounding like your father used to, before he destroyed our lives."
