Hideyoshi
As we were about to sit down to Kiki in the room where she had usually been tutored, a maid walked over and told Kaze she had a called from her ex.
"Kine? Why is he calling now?" Kaze asked.
The maid shrugged. "He did not say, My Lady."
Kine was still calling her? Why? Did he wish to get back together with her? Too bad, she was now my girlfriend!
She stroked her chin and hummed before looking up. "Alright, I'll go see what he wants." She glanced at me. "You don't mind, do you, Hide?"
I waved her off. "It's okay. I'm not that lacking in self-confidence."
My girlfriend giggled.
I watched as Kaze disappeared down the hallway, her steps echoing with a rhythm that matched the pounding in my heart. I trusted her, of course, but Kine's sudden intrusion into our peaceful day left a sour taste in my mouth.
Turning back to the room, I decided not to let the interruption ruin Kiki's studies. We came here for her sake.
