I hummed a song as I dusted off Milo's house. While we were staying here, it was best if we helped out with some of the chores.
My face turned red as I realized my humming was like a princess from my favorite cartoons growing up. As a kid, I used to think animals would come up to me and be my friends. Alas, the only animals that approached me were scary dogs. Maybe my brothers and Gael were not the only childish ones in our family after all.
But there was something satisfying about cleaning, something calming about the repetitive motions and the clear results. Plus, it was nice to see the house all neat and tidy, especially when the family was home.
Suddenly, I heard knocking at the door. Walking over to the door. After some initial hesitation, I slowly turned the knob. My eyes widening as I saw Kaze.
"Kaze!" I exclaimed, surprised. "You're here early. Where's Kiki? Is everything okay?"
