"Anis?" I said, staring back at the girl.
Reginald snickered. "Yes, a child who looks like her father but who inherited her mother's powers. Although, one could also say she resembles her maternal grandfather."
I glanced at him. "Her mother?" My eyes widened. "You mean this girl is Rose's daughter?"
He nodded. "Although, her existence is like the flicker of a flame. It can be puffed out at any moment."
I recalled some of the conversations I had with him when I was a kid. "You said there are multiple paths in life, yes?"
He nodded. "Oh, good. You remember. Indeed. There are some possible futures where this child lives a life as short as a firefly."
To think that Rose would have a kid. Although, that didn't mean she was pregnant right now. Her health wasn't the best, so having a kid would be tough on her.
"Ohh?" Reginald said.
I looked up and noticed him smiling.
