*Uneri*
"For what?" I managed to say, without having my voice crack.
She took another deep breath. "If I worried you earlier. I didn't mean to be distant."
I turned to her, concern evident in my eyes. "Kisara, you don't have to apologize. We all have our moments, and I'm here for you, no matter what."
She smiled gratefully. "Thank you, Uneri. You've always been there for me, through thick and thin. I just... I had a lot on my mind."
I reached out and gently squeezed her hand. "You know you can tell me anything, right? We're partners, after all."
She nodded, her gaze fixed on the rippling water. "I know, and I appreciate that. It's just... I've been thinking about our job, about the challenges we've faced and those still to come. It's a lot to take in sometimes, you know?"
