I panted as Rohan and I dodged Terrence's attacks.
The battlefield was a chaotic symphony of sand and sound, the air thick with the roars of the giant sand tanuki, Terrence. His form was a whirlwind of shifting, roiling sand, an immense and intimidating spectacle. Rohan and I stood side by side, our faces marked by the strain of battle but our eyes unyielding.
"Rohan, left!" I shouted, my voice barely audible over the cacophony. Rohan reacted instantly, rolling nimbly to the left to evade a sweeping paw of coarse, gritty sand. The ground where he'd been standing moments before was ripped apart.
I tried not to show fear, but I wanted to run. This guy was another level from the abysmal dragon, but I couldn't back down. If we let him get away, he'll make things tougher on Major Kisara, Lieutenant Uneri, and the injured stranger.
