I yawned as I woke up from my nap. Big sis came into my room with a plate of cookies. She smiled.
"I brought you a snack," she said. "You must be hungry after all that studying."
I smiled. "Thanks, Kaze."
She walked over to my bed and handed me the plate. I looked at the cookies. They were in the shape of stars.
"Stars? But Kiki didn't do anything special."
Sis giggled. "Well, it's your favorite shape. And I thought it'd cheer you up."
I smiled. "It does." I ate a cookie. It tasted really good.
Kaze sat down and petted my head.
"Did you make these?" I asked.
She nodded. "Yep! I did get some help from Nana though. I wanted to try out a new recipe. I hope you like them."
I nodded. "They're yummy."
Sis beamed. "I'm glad you like them."
I took another bite of the cookie. I wanted to make Mama happy. If I didn't do good on my retake, she wouldn't be.
"What's wrong, Kiki?"
