I stared at the tests I'd given Kiki for practice. Her writing was pretty, although her letters were jumbled. There was no question about it, Kiki had dyslexia.
"You're doing great," I said, smiling.
She grinned. "Yay! I wanna impress Mama."
I chuckled. "You will. Don't worry. Although, I think I might've found something that's bringing down your scores. Your writing is pretty but there are a lot of spelling errors and missing words."
She frowned. "I didn't mean to."
I shook my head. "I know you didn't. It's not your fault. I've suspected this for some time now, but I think you might have dyslexia. I was just waiting to make sure you didn't improve naturally first before getting a diagnosis."
Her face paled. "Am I gonna get better?"
"Is Kiki sick?" Sil asked, running over.
I laughed slightly. "She's fine. It's not that an illness, more like a disorder."
Kiki bit her lip. "I'm sorry..."
