*Saffron*
Korei walked us over to a destroyed part of town. The wind howled, blowing away some of the debris into the desert beyond the oasis.
"The town was attacked by those monsters last night," Korei said. "They came out of nowhere and started tearing the place apart."
"And no one was hurt?" Uneri asked, tilting his head.
"Some were, but not too badly," Korei said. "I guess the creatures didn't care much for them."
Was the focus on making their lives miserable? That did sound like something a demon would have his 'pets' do.
Korei frowned as he glanced at the rubble. "I'm just glad none of the townspeople were seriously injured."
I nodded. "Same here."
"Well, we should probably start looking for clues," Uneri said.
I knelt down and put a hand on the ground to see if I could sense any vibrations. I felt a faint buzzing, but it was too far away to tell what it was.
