"Mayor Tasuku, I must say, I'm rather surprised to see you here," Setsuka said as soon as we walked up to him.
"Oh, I heard what happened," he said, putting a hand on his chin. He opened his eyes and stared at us. "The kids were found."
I nodded. "My colleagues are currently returning them to their homes. We wish to speak to you about what we discovered.
The mayor frowned. "I see." He turned around. "We should take this inside."
We followed the mayor into his office.
"What exactly did you find?" he asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
"A large cavern that leads into a chasm," I said.
He raised an eyebrow. "A chasm? The Great Chasm to the west of Shirayuki? What does that have to do with anything?"
"We aren't sure, but Daddy, I mean, Sir Griff noticed the new energy discovered at the chasm and the goo on the kids all had traces of the same energy. We believe they are linked."
