The moonlight painted a silvery path across the New York City rooftops as Black Cat, agile and graceful, continued her frantic escape from Bullseye. Her breath came in quick, controlled gasps as she darted from one rooftop to the next, but her lithe form never faltered. She clutched the sleek suitcase tightly in her hand, the object of Bullseye's relentless pursuit.
"You just don't know when to quit, do you, Bullseye?" Black Cat taunted between breaths, her voice laced with sarcasm. She couldn't help but admire his persistence, even if it was infuriating.
Bullseye, the relentless pursuer, clad in a sleek black bodysuit with a target symbol on his forehead, showed no signs of slowing down. He moved with deadly precision, every step calculated, every move executed flawlessly. He didn't respond to her taunts, preferring to let his actions do the talking.
As they continued their chase, Bullseye hurled all manner of deadly objects at his agile quarry. Thrown blades, shurikens, and even a handful of playing cards whistled through the night air with lethal intent. Black Cat's acrobatic skills and keen reflexes kept her just out of their deadly reach. She couldn't help but curse under her breath as she evaded each projectile with a hair's breadth to spare.
"I already told you. You have nowhere to run," Bullseye called out, his voice dripping with malice. "Make it easy on yourself and just hand over the damned thing." He impatiently added, growing bored of the chase.
Black Cat's eyes blazed with determination. "And I already told you to fuck off! You're not getting anything for me!" she retorted, her frustration mounting as she continued to run.
After what felt like an eternity of running, Black Cat finally came to a stop on a particularly wide rooftop. She turned to face Bullseye, her lithe form tense, ready for a fight. "I've had enough of your shit. If you want this case so badly, you'll have to fight me for it," she declared, her voice filled with defiance.
Bullseye smirked. "I intend to do more than beat you..." He drew a pair of sai from holsters on his hips, spinning them with an effortless grace that signaled his intent. He was a master of hand-to-hand combat, having fought Daredevil countless times and coming dangerously close to defeating the Man Without Fear.
The two adversaries circled each other, each waiting for the other to make the first move. Black Cat's nimble footwork and acrobatic prowess allowed her to evade Bullseye's initial strikes as he made the first move.
Bullseye quickly adapted, his blows becoming more precise and calculated with each passing moment.
Despite her incredible skill, it became apparent that Bullseye held the upper hand in their hand-to-hand combat. He exploited her weaknesses, countering her every move with devastating precision. Each strike landed was like a sledgehammer to her defenses.
Desperation crept into Black Cat's eyes as Bullseye continued to press his advantage, employing his throwing weapons again. She dodged and weaved, but his relentless assault left her with fewer options by the second. It seemed inevitable that one of his projectiles would find its mark, and her defiance would be her downfall.
But just as Bullseye prepared to deliver what could have been a finishing blow, a gust of wind seemed to materialize out of nowhere, disrupting the trajectory of his attack. The deadly projectiles that should have struck Black Cat went astray, harmlessly embedding themselves in the rooftop behind her.
Bullseye froze, his eyes narrowing as he tried to make sense of the sudden interference. That's when a familiar figure appeared from the shadows, stepping confidently onto the rooftop.
It was Domino, her striking appearance marked by a black eye mask and streaked white hair. Her power, the manipulation of luck, was evident in the timely gust of wind that had saved Black Cat. "Looks like luck's not on your side tonight, Bullseye."
Black Cat caught her breath, a mixture of relief and exasperation evident on her face. "Not to dampen your cool entrance, but you sure took your sweet time, lady," she remarked, her voice still laced with tension. "This guy is a serious nut case, but he's really good. We need more hands on the case," she explained, preparing herself for the ongoing fight.
Domino's smirk remained as she confidently joined the fray. "Not to worry. I'm well aware of how dangerous this guy could be. I already informed Evan of our little situation here," she replied, her fingers casually reaching for her guns.
Black Cat arched an eyebrow and chuckled, her exhaustion momentarily overshadowed by Domino's presence. "So the titan-slaying hero of New York is coming to our rescue? I'm feeling better already," she quipped, her tone lightening as they faced their relentless opponent together.
...
Evan sat in the driver's seat, his grip firm on the wheel as he and Ororo sped toward the location where Black Cat and Domino were facing off against Bullseye. Ororo, deep in thought, finally spoke up, her voice tinged with recognition.
"Bullseye," she mused, the name triggering a flicker of familiarity after Evan had briefly explained the situation during his call with Domino. "Where have I heard that name before?" she wondered aloud, her brows furrowing in thought.
Evan's eyes remained focused on the road as he provided some background information. "He's one of the many Daredevil-obsessed nut jobs who roam Manhattan, Hell's Kitchen to be more specific," he explained, his tone carrying a touch of disdain.
"He doesn't have any superpowers, but he's more dangerous than most people who do," he added, his expression growing grim as he navigated through the city's streets, pushing the car's speed to its limits.
As Evan expertly weaved through the labyrinthine streets of New York City, Ororo delved deeper into her recollections. "Now that you mention it... I remember hearing about a man with that name assassinating more than a dozen mutants back in the day," she said, her brows knitting together in thought. "But he suddenly disappeared, and I haven't heard about him since," she added, her expression one of mild perplexity.
Evan's eyes remained on the road, but he couldn't help but grimace at the memories Bullseye's name invoked. "The bastard is obsessed with Daredevil, the vigilante protector of Hell's Kitchen. I had a run-in with him when I was in active duty, and it was less than pleasant," he admitted with a hint of irritation.
Ororo sighed, her concern deepening. "But why would he go after Black Cat? Do you think he was hired by Kelly?" she inquired, seeking to understand the motive behind Bullseye's pursuit.
Evan gave a nonchalant shrug. "Most likely," he replied, his voice tinged with a hint of cynicism. "Apart from obsessing over Daredevil, he mostly works as a mercenary.
I don't think he'd have any other reason to go after Black Cat at this particular time besides money..." His grip on the steering wheel tightened as they neared their destination, the urgency of the situation growing with each passing moment.
...
The fight on the rooftop grew increasingly intense as Black Cat and Domino worked in tandem to fend off Bullseye's relentless assault. Black Cat's earlier estimation that they needed more help proved unnecessary, as Domino's extraordinary luck-altering power disrupted Bullseye's every move.
With each of Bullseye's attempts to hurl projectiles at them, Domino's power intervened. Gusts of wind would suddenly appear, causing Bullseye's projectiles to veer off course or miss entirely. Rocks and debris on the rooftop would shift, disrupting Bullseye's balance and accuracy. It was as if the very elements conspired against him.
On the rare occasions when Bullseye's projectiles did find their mark, Domino's power intervened again. Her projectiles, despite initial misses, would miraculously redirect themselves, following unpredictable trajectories until they found their way back toward Bullseye. This forced him into a constant state of defense, as he struggled to evade his own attacks.
Whenever Bullseye attempted to close the distance, Black Cat and Domino coordinated their efforts seamlessly. Black Cat's masterful acrobatics and martial arts skills allowed her to engage Bullseye up close, while Domino provided covering fire from a distance.
As Bullseye charged forward, his sai poised to strike at Black Cat, the rooftop's unpredictable terrain worked its magic once more. He stumbled, his intended assault thwarted by an unexpected obstacle. Black Cat seized the opportunity and retaliated swiftly, delivering a precise and powerful kick to his chin. The force of the blow sent Bullseye staggering backward, momentarily disoriented.
Domino wasted no time capitalizing on the opening her powers had created. She aimed her firearm with unparalleled accuracy and squeezed the trigger. The bullet found its mark, lodging itself into Bullseye's thigh. His pained grimace revealed the discomfort he felt.
"Fuck..." Bullseye cursed vehemently through gritted teeth, his irritation evident. However, he remained composed, refusing to let frustration cloud his judgment. With a resigned sigh, he regained his composure and decided to escalate the conflict.
"I wanted to save this for Daredevil," he admitted with a certain level of disappointment. His hand rose into the air, signaling his intent. "But you two are really starting to irritate me," he declared, acknowledging their resilience.
"So be it... I'll give you a tatse of my new toy..."
