Synopsis
[Currently participating in the August Prompts Contest. Please support me with power stones and collections!] --- I've never had a will in life. I've always lived for the sake of living. Absolutely none of it had anything to do with a goal. Whether it be getting a degree that I wanted, finding the love or simply appreciating everything. I've never felt any of it. I'm not sure why I felt this way, but I will enjoy my life to its fullest—or at least try to. Blink. My eyes opened and I found myself alone in the wilderness. It was only a few years later that I had realized that I had awoken in another world filled with cultivation. "Magic? Swordsmanship? Getting stronger?" None of that mattered. Since, I had somehow gained eternal life before even travelling into this world. "I'm not sure why I'm in this world. Nor do I expect an answer. But I know one thing for sure.." It had as if I had gained the will to finally do something. Whether it be utter despair or immense happiness that I feel... "I want to explore this world filled with Swords&Magic and experience it!" My eyes glistered. --- I just want to let you all know that this book isn't going to be your generic cliche Isekai but something else different. Although, my writing quality may be lacking, I will still try to make up for it with making a satisfying power progression—and not just give Johan, Our MC, everything from the start. This story will support the eternal life theme but will be slowly paced so please be patient. I'm new to writing on this site. But I have written a few unreleased books in my spare time. So please be harsh on this Little Guru. Chapter length — 750+ words (After mass release) Mass releasing 5000+ words.

Chapter 1 - Conformity

Chatter.

The room blossomed with it. There was of course, also a lot of small tiny sounds that were combined with it that raised the room's volume level—tips of pens tapping the desks, sounds of people adjusting their posture and the very few who walked around.

However, although these were almost all the sounds, there was one more. In the corner of the room, a black-haired boy with white eyes stared out of the window. He didn't talk like the rest—quite frankly because he didn't have anything that peeked his interest.

That boy was me, and my name is Johan.

"I wonder where the birds from the nest have gone.."

I was in my own world.

But that didn't make me the odd one out.

In fact, I did the same as everyone else. My life was plain with some friends, socializing, studying and sleeping. There wasn't much to it. It almost felt as if I never belonged here—but I still had aspirations.

Well, maybe 'aspirations' wasn't the right word, but I did have some sort of will to do something like everyone else.

I wanted to finish high school, graduate University with a good degree and get settled down with a family.

Although, I don't think I did this for myself. I did it more as a societal standard.

My eyes wandered back to the rest of the class.

"What food should I have today..?"

I thinked deeply but all of a sudden.

Drop.

"Huh?"

After I blinked, I find myself in the middle of nowhere.

My classmates were nowhere to be seen, my school was nowhere to be seen and all that surrounded me was the plain wilderness.

"Where.. am I?"

There were many hills filled with a forest nearby and the grassy plains. A volcanic mountain could also be spotted in the distance where smoke had risen above its tip.

I knew that this place was not in the country that I was in previously and also knew how there was no form of human connection or no buildings.

"If this is the case, I must be on some sort of island."

I simply 'hoped' that this was the case and that I wasn't wrong.

After all, this was barely an assumption.

I stopped thinking about my whereabouts and decided to move.

Since,

'If this place is in the middle of nowhere, I need food, water and shelter to survive.'

My pupils stopped and looked straight at the forest.

"I can hopefully find some berries there, and some water along the way."

My foot began walking.

I realized that I was still wearing trainers which I thanked my previous self for.

The comfort of walking like this was way better than using school shoes.

Since all they would do would hurt my feet if I walked long distances over prolonged periods of time.

I stopped and looked inside the forest.

"That's weird.."

There were absolutely no sounds in the forest.

Usually, a person would hear some sort of chirping from the birds.

But...

'It is dead silent..'
