Chapter 3 - 3. The Book 1.

"The prince will meet you soon." A voice said to me, sending chills down my spine. It was cool and moved swiftly with the wind, sending goosebumps on my skin. "Wait here,"

"Who are you?" I demanded.

Instead of a reply, the sack was lifted off my face. Standing before me was a tall gentleman of around a young age as well, although not as dressed magnificently as the prince, but he was neat.

A black scarf was wrapped around his mouth and nose, covering half of his face, but a stare at his pale brown eyes signified he was handsome.

"Wait here," he said again, then turned to leave. I followed him.

"I'm telling the truth. Those people, they killed the innocent man! They--"

He turned to face me abruptly. "If you think Cottar Mathew was innocent, then you must be a big fool."

I was quite taken aback by his statement, but I didn't back down. "But you have to believe me. I didn't make that up!" I protested.

"Keep your foolish words to yourself."

"But--" my word was halted when I saw two figures walking in. One was a slender young woman with firm muscles that could be visible in her armless shirt and dark pants. She had shoulder length blonde hair and brown eyes.

The other figure was a petite teenage girl with small eyes and round face.

They both didn't look happy to see me. The older lady stormed towards me, and she pushed me aggressively, teeth gritting. "Do you have any idea what you've done, huh! How dare you try to sabotage our plan, you foolish alien!"

"That'll be enough." The prince said as he walked in. "I already told the people she's delusional. Many will now see her as a mad woman."

I didn't like his tone. "I'm not mad!--"

"Quite lady!" The older lady yelled again, and I was beginning to wonder what I'd ever done to her.

"Lock the doors," the prince said, and the other boy nodded slightly, then went to lock the doors. "Sybel, protect the room with a barrier spell."

I hadn't heard him well. "A barrier spell? Like... Magic?"

Not long enough, the teenager clasped her hands together, then began to rub them furiously whilst chanting some incantation.

I stood with my mouth open, watching the scenery that played before me. Magic? Where was I?

Soon enough, she was done. The prince opened the floor with a perplexing question.

"Did you hit your head so hard while you landed?"

I frowned. What was he saying?

"Did she actually land from the heavens?" The other boy asked, sounding astounded.

"Actually no, Mori." The prince said, "they said she just appeared on the bed. Like vanishing potion was used."

"Vanishing potion?" Exclaimed the older lady. "Aren't those extinct? I hear only the ancient wizards use vanishing potion."

"She must be the great granddaughter of a powerful wizard." Mori replied.

"But that is highly impossible. The ancient wizards long gone even before our grandfathers were born." The prince said.

They each exchanged nonsense words until I couldn't take it anymore. "Enough!" I roared out and they all turned to stare at me.

"Please, where am I?" I asked, totally confused now.

"Who are you? Where did you come from!" The older lady yelled.

I sighed, "my name is Rhiannon Halls, and I come from Brooklyn." I announced.

"Brooklyn?" The prince called, and I nodded. "I've studied the map of the world, and I have never heard of that name before."

Of course he hasn't! I knew it in my guts I'd been teleported into a vast planet!

"Where is this place? And who are you all?"

"How did you get here!" The older lady asked. I was getting sick of her questions now.

"I don't know!" I recalled the incident with my foster brother and how a shadow had engulfed me. I shuddered. "I don't know, okay?"

"And why do you talk like that? And what are you wearing!"

"It's called a sleeveless gown and a pair of sneakers! And I talk like this because I'm American!"

"Amari-what now?" Asked Mori.

"Just answer me already." I said impatiently.

The prince stepped forward, chest puffing out and head straight high. "This is the kingdom of Daegalia, and I am Prince Frase Asloc, descendant of the great lord Daegal himself. These great people here are my loyal friends, Mori Itsuki, Sybel Jago and over here," he pointed to the older lady who seemed to hate me for no reason. "Yasmeen Xiomara."

"Nice to meet you all--"

"How did you know about the book? You must be from another world, if possible. And yet, you know about the book. And have you also met those men before?"

I narrated my tale to them, not leaving out any detail.

"Impossible!" Yasmeen gasped. "The woman lies! The Cottar and his were in their tents, whilst she was here. How was it possible for her to have witnessed a murder!"

I frowned. "I'm not lying, alright! Watch how you talk to me!"

"How I talk to you?" She came forward, chest puffed out in anger. "You are a nobody and I will speak to you however I wish!"

"Hold it, Yasmeen." The prince said, pulling her back. "It may have been possible that Nagi killed the Cottar. We all know how evil she is."

"Wait, you know about all of this? About them meeting the so called Frostlander to rave war, how they plan on finding this so-called book, and you will do nothing?" I asked, puzzled by the news.

"Well, we do not wish for anyone to find this book. But Warin can try all he likes. The area is secured by my forefathers' protection spell. Nobody other than I or my father can cross the land. He knows that much."

"But won't he try something funny in the long run?" I asked, wondering why I was worried for them anyway.

"Why'd you ask such questions when they do not concern you!" Yasmeen snorted.

"Oh but they do concern her." Frase said, green eyes fixated at me. "Because we're going together to find this book, and save us from the wrath of Gilme."

I spat out. "We?!"
