Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: HER DREAM

What is your dream?

What do you want to be in the future?

What would you do if you were given the opportunity to make a significant contribution to humanity?

Would your life be different if your circumstances were different than they are now?

If you had a second chance to start over, would you choose the same path or go in a different direction?

What if one day you unexpectedly gain blessings or an opportunity to make yourself greater? Would you take it and utilize it to accomplish something useful, helpful, and valuable to yourself and others, or would you waste it and adopt a villainous attitude?

All of these thoughts were on her mind, and she had been asking herself regarding this so many times that she had lost track of time.

Everything still felt like a dream to her, and she didn't want to wake up from it.

Despite the oil lamp blazing in another area of the room, the room was slightly dark. She sat cross-legged on the thin mattress, her back to the cold wall, with her eyes closed.

Despite being in the dark, a smile could be seen on her face, and it was the sort that made one wonder whether the person was joyful or just confused and experiencing mixed emotions.

The closed eyes suddenly opened wide and the corners of her mouth raised, and if there was anybody in the room, they could tell she was quite happy at this moment.

"Ha, since I've been given this opportunity, why should I waste it? I'm going to pursue a dream that I never believed I'd pursue if it weren't for this opportunity. I'm going to fight for a better future, a better life, not just for myself, but for all the other women who are oppressed by men and strong individuals."

"I will rise from the ashes like a phoenix, shine among the masses, and make those who looked down on me regret tossing me aside like trash," she laughed to herself before continuing.

"One day, my name will be known throughout the kingdoms, and I will be a role model for all women, from young girls to grandmothers. I'm not going to let my past hold me back any longer. Since they have given me this blessing, I intend to make good use of it!" determination crept on her face as she uttered this.

All of this confident monologue she had by herself was something she could never have done previously.

She wasn't this confident the night before going to bed, and she wouldn't dare to say something stupid or dream so big.

She was just a regular thirty-three-year-old divorced lady who couldn't even walk with her head held high because, according to society and the world at this moment, her era, a woman should be tied to her spouse till death do them part. And it was regardless of how tough and tiring the marriage was.

Despite the new laws supporting women that have been passed in recent years, all thanks to the current queen who has improved the life of women in her realm, not everyone has welcomed this change.

People were still set in their traditions, and women, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, were suffering.

They didn't even have a chance to express their displeasure; they were obliged to take whatever came their way.

She was fortunate in that, she was born into a merchant family; therefore, she grew up in a wealthy family. Growing up, she never went without food, clothing, or money. She did not, however, receive what every child in a family desired, and that was her parents' love.

Everything was a competition when she was born and raised in an era where men have multiple wives and children. To top it all off, her world was magical, and becoming a mage was everyone's greatest dream.

Families that could afford to have their children tested at the age of five would test their children to discover if they have an affinity for magic. And those who would be discovered to have mystic veins, veins that would allow one to practice magic, would become mages.

Only individuals with mystic veins could draw mana, and the better the veins, the more mana they could draw. Mana was already running low, and mages were becoming scarce. As a result, a family with a mage, regardless of quality, was widely valued.

This was considered extremely good, but she wasn't her parents' favorite because she grew up with normal veins and didn't have a single talent.

Her concubine mother barely cared for her while she concentrated on having another kid. Thankfully, her mother's wishes were fulfilled, and she now has a younger sister on her mother's side, despite having several other siblings on her father's side.

Her younger sister was the torment of her existence; she was born to take everything from her, and all she wanted to do was get away from it.

Her younger sister was checked at the age of five and discovered to have mystic veins, which lowered her standing in the family and radically changed her life.

What was going on in her family compelled her to make a decision, one she now regrets the most and wished that she never acted that rash before.

To escape the unfairness at home, she wanted to find a husband who would adore her and offer her all the love she lacked as a child.

And it was the biggest mistake she had ever made in her life. And she suffered so much for ten years that anytime she meets a random man on the street, deadly thoughts haunt her.

And because of all she had gone through during her marriage to that man, she was thrilled when she awoke earlier that day and realized her life had changed and it wasn't a dream.

She now has a dream that she had never considered before, and she wanted to follow it.

She wasn't the only lady suffering out there; there were simply too many, and now that she had the opportunity to do something about it, she wasn't going to let it go.

She was going to seize this opportunity for glory to become the amazing woman that every woman looked up to.

'My dream, here I come!'
