Chapter 9 - Token

Walking outside of the spirit guild, Austin stopped for a moment. He looked at Ember with a profound gaze.

He wasn't someone who naively thought that she would fall for someone upon the first meeting. Moreover, with the blindfold, she couldn't see anyone; she could only sense people's auras.

But today, her actions were a little odd. She had asked them to postpone their entry into the Qi world and then suddenly asked them to come to the spirit guild.

Everything she had been doing these days was peculiar. "What is she really hiding?" Austin thought with a frown.

He didn't ask her about it. He knew that he would never get an answer from her. Despite knowing each other for many years, the times she spoke to him could be counted on one hand.

Anyway, he decided to report this to the vice principal. Shaking his head, he led them in the direction of their inn.

Walking behind them, Ember slightly touched her beating heart. She hadn't known before why her mind always urged her to come here. She had asked her father for special permission to be here.

Seeing the fight between the big sword and the black dragon made her blood boil with anticipation. Somewhere in her heart, she kept hearing a word: 'Chaos sword master.'

She had a feeling that someone very important to her was coming to the city today. That's why she had postponed her own date to enter the Qi world.

Today, sensing his presence, her heart started beating fast. When she finally sensed him nearby, she wanted to be engulfed by him. She knew from that feeling that he was her destiny.

So, when she saw Arnard attacking him, her first reaction was to defend him. She tried her best not to kill Arnard.

If he had hurt him, thinking that her eyes hidden behind the blindfold turned flaming red. A fire started to burn in her eyes as she looked in Arnard's direction.

Arnard felt his scalp go numb for a moment, but that feeling quickly disappeared. He didn't know that he had already been condemned to death by someone on his own team.

Asher reached the registration counter easily without queuing. Everyone made way for him as he was a strange monster.

He only shrugged his shoulder, observing their expressions. Walking ahead, he saw an old man with a white beard sitting in a chair, leisurely reading a book.

"Name, age, cultivation level," the old man asked without looking up, engrossed in changing the page of the book he was reading.

Asher caught a glimpse of the content of the book. Seeing the naked picture of a man and woman doing child making process, he twitched his mouth.

He didn't thought that this old man was an old pervert.

"Asher, age twelve, Qi refining peak stage," anyway that was not his business. So he answered without waiting.

The old man moved his hands, and then a dark token appeared on his hand. His hands moved again and a group of arrays were printed on the token.

"Imprint this token with your spiritual sense, and keep it safe. You can only enter the Qi world by showing this token, so don't lose it," giving him the token, the old man continued his reading.

Asher looked at the token in his hand with interest. It had a smooth surface and the same logo as that of the spirit guild.

When he imprinted his spiritual sense, he could see the locations of the Qi world and other high-level portals.

"So this thing can be used as a map," he murmured as he exited the spirit guild.

Booking a room at the inn, he directly summoned the Crystal sword from his heart. Elara also changed back to her female form.

Both of them looked at the Crystal sword with their eyebrows raised. Elara even sneered at it.

'Ting,' 'Ting' the crystal sword vibrated up and down, showing its frustration.

"Now tell me why you're so excited seeing that girl. Are you a pervert?" Asher asked, looking in the direction of its hilt.

'Ting,' hearing his words, the sword started emitting sounds that hurt his eardrums.

"Stop it, or I will melt you down," he threatened in a cold voice. Hearing his words, the sword lay on the ground without moving.

"Master, this guy is sulking. I already knew that this was not a good guy," Elara said, opening her eyes wide.

Asher rubbed his head in frustration.

He took a deep breath to control his emotions, then asked in a low voice, "Could you please tell me why you are so attracted to her? If I don't know the reason, what could we do if we never meet her again?"

Hearing that, the sword moved a little. Then a message was sent directly into his mind, "She is your martial spirit, master."

"What!" he was surprised for a moment. "How could she be my martial spirit? Isn't she a human?" he asked hurriedly.

"I don't know how she became a human, but she is really your martial spirit," another message came into his mind from the sword.

"Damn, why is everything so chaotic these days," he cursed in a low voice.

Elara was also stunned at this moment. With the soul contract, she also heard the message from the crystal sword.

"Master, if that beautiful sister is your martial spirit, why didn't we go and take her with us?" she asked with shining eyes. Having another companion was exciting for her.

"What do I tell her?" he shook his head, "If I tell her you are my sword spirit, she will kill me first."

"Then what are you going to do? If she is your martial spirit, without her, you can't break through Qi refining," she said with a frown.

Asher sighed in a low voice. "Whatever. We can see with time."

Today, he had encountered numerous strange occurrences that left him feeling weary. As he lay on the bed, he swiftly closed his eyes and drifted into a deep slumber.

Elara gazed at his peaceful sleeping face, resting her cheek on her hand as she observed him in silence.

"Master looks quite beautiful when he's asleep," she whispered softly.
