A young man was running frantically through a thick forest. He weaved through trees with insane precision as his long red hair waved in the wind. A giant tree appeared in his path , which he did not hesitate to punch. The tree burst into tiny splinters as he jumped through it.
"Alfred am i in the clear ?" The man said seemingly to no one. He did not stop to say those words and continued to run out of the forest and into the street.
"Alfred!? Alfred are you there?.....shit" he exclaimed after not receiving an initial answer.
Reaching a building, the man quickly and silently broke the door at the lock and entered a room.After checking the windows he laid down on a bed and closed his eyes.
Lex woke up with a splitting headache the next morning. He went to the cupboard and took a pill before throwing it inside his mouth.
'_What happened yesterday ? the only thing i remember is meeting that man in the street then i woke up here '_ those thoughts circulated in his mind as he prepared for school

"I could have sworn these numbers where lower than this , how can i now have more 'Force' than Adam ?" "That Darkness and light elements are still there, i thought the system would have fixed itself by now. I should probably talk to Ms Laura about this" he thought to himself
"Hey Lex come on in , wow look at you with your long red hair , the girls must be going crazy." Mrs Jones exclaimed
"Good morning Mrs Jones " Lex replied with a laugh" Is Adam ready yet?"
"I don't think Adam will make it to school today Lex , Today he woke up complaining of a headache. I was just on my way to get some instant painkillers right now."
"Oh i have some right here , i bought them yesterday. I can give him some "Lex suggested
"Sure thing you can go up to his room , i will make breakfast."
"Flame brother" Lex said as he walked into the room
"Yo what's up dude." Adam said with a smile as he sat up on the bed
"How's your head feelin' ?"
"It's not that bad actually, im sure mom told you i was dying right " Adam chuckled
"Well dead or not im not going to school alone so eat this "Lex said giving him the pills
"Thanks , i was worried about staying in bed the whole day" Adam took the pills " Instant? how did you afford these "
"I never use my school card so i have a hell lot of credit built up" Lex explained
"You still don't know who sends you money every month?" Adam asked
"Nope , the school says its a private donor "Lex said as Adam gulped down the pill.
"Well whoever it is , he or she just saved my life let's get out of here " The pill had suppressed Adam's headache and he already had enough energy to move.
"I tell you Lex, magic is amazing, pills can heal bodies in mere seconds now."
Adam and Lex slowly ran to school as they where getting late. They both realized that it was easier to run longer distances without getting tired. All of a sudden Lex screamed "Look out !" and barged into Adam causing them both to fall to the ground
"What the hell dude ?" Adam was confused
"I.....i..i thought i saw a tree " Lex stammered while looking around .
"A tree ? " Adam commented " You saw a tree in the middle of the street? , are you sure you didn't just mistakenly open your system screen?"
Lex knew that was not not possible but then again he could not deny what he saw , even if the so called tree was nowhere to be seen.
"Yeah that is probably it "He told Adam " come on let's get moving"
The duo passed Wevington's statue in a hurry and through the windows saw Ms Laura in their classroom. "Shit we are in trouble" Adam worried
"Don't worry we just tell her the truth" Lex reassured
"Which truth ? the one about the invisible tree or...?" Adam joked
"No idiot " Lex berated "the one about the crybaby who was complaining about a headache all morning, now come on."
As they opened the door they where surprised to see how happy Ms Laura was to see them.
"Lex , Adam thank God !" she said practically running to their position.
"Uhh Ms Laura is everything okay ?" Lex asked. You could almost see the question mark plastered on his face as he and Adam backed away. The memories of Ms Laura's outburst where still fresh in their minds.
Before Lex and Adam arrived ,Laura was the definition of paranoid. She was worried that one of the greatest talent in the school was dead and she would only blame herself if something happened to Adam. Laura could already imagine Mr Brown throwing a temper tantrum in her direction.
Her worry turned to happiness when the two boys entered the class. She was so happy she saw herself running in their direction. Her run however was cut short because of Lex's question. She quickly straightened her posture before directing her students to their seats.
"That was weird" Adam whispered to Lex as they sat down.
"Hey is it me or does the class seem less populated today . Lex observed after ignoring Adam's previous comment.
"Less populated, what are you talking about ? this place is downright empty." Adam said after looking around the room
"Including us, there are only 6 students here . I guess im not the only one with a headache."
"I gotta feeling this is much more than a headache" Lex said while looking at Ms Laura , who was starring at the door with a sad look.
"Students" Ms Laura said "Form a group and discuss your systems i will be right back"She announced before heading for the door.
"Come in " Mr Brown said
"Sir im here to report about....." She was cut off before finishing.
"Go ahead Laura, how many died?"
"18 have not reported for class, and i fear the worst" Mr Laura seemed ready to let the tears in her eyes flow.
"What about the special ones you told me about?" The headmaster asked.
"All 2 of them are accounted for sir" She answered
"Good" Mr Brown said , devoid of emotion.
"With all due respect sir , how can you say that ? And what will we even tell the parents?."
"We have already told some parents that one of the teachers was infected by an elf when they went on a mission. Said teacher then spread the virus which killed some students."
Mr Brown continued "And the blood oath stops any student from saying anything to anyone outside the school anyway so we are safe."
"What if someone over hears some students talking then? "Laura did not seem convinced
"We will cross that bridge when we get there Laura, now go back and prepare your remaining student just in case you forgot , we are at war"
