While their clothes— Bai Mo, Xu Zeng, and Xu Hu Zhe— were of much lower quality since they purchased them from the villagers, they were at least clean. The two tall men didn't quite fit their clothes, but again, at least they were clean.
They were offered food by the villagers which was accepted with the exchange of copper coins, but offers to sleep in the village were turned down. Just because they were clean didn't mean they were lulled into a false sense of security.
Nanshan was home, home was safety, and that was their goal.
Changing out drivers they got back on their way. Chun and Xu Hu Zhe would drive through the night and took over from Zhang Cai and Zhang Hui, who drove that day.
Everything was good. Right?
