Lex, Maralene, and the Celestial Felines found an old road that headed south. While walking, the group didn't encounter any monsters as Peri, Aurora, and Fiamma scouted ahead to find any trouble.
Midnight approached Lex and climbed up his body to see on his shoulder before speaking, ''What is your plan for the south?''
''I don't know. I didn't expect the empire to try to capture me as I had no ill will toward them and meant them no harm.'' Lex answered as they crossed over a rickety bridge.
While crossing, he got a bad feeling and told everyone to rush across as a large river monster lunged at the bridge, aiming to take them down. He managed to get the women across without any issues.
But when he was about to jump out of the way, a spike slammed into his shoulder, causing him to scream out and tumble backward.
'Damn. That hurts,' Lex thought as he scrambled to escape the river beast's way by jumping to the side.
