Lex continued to slaughter any Hive Spawn he found, and the monster fell in droves as his claws tore through them. Silika, Eve, and Ayla used their weapons to cover him while Maralene cast her blood magic.
Out of nowhere, a Hive Assassin sneaked up behind the three girls, taking them by surprise. Swiftly, she pivoted and unleashed a Blood Blast at the monster. When Lex saw this, he let out an angry roar before rushing toward them.
Silika saw the Hive Assassin lunge for the other two and, without hesitation, push them out of the way as the talons pierced her body. Eve's eyes widened in terror as she witnessed the monster lift her in the air, but she didn't give up and fired her cog rifle into the monster's head.
But it just flung her into Maralene, and the two tumbled to the ground. Lex's world slowed down as he witnessed Sil get hurt.
