''Well, I didn't, and I'm here now, but you need to know that I'm with Tila Dawnstrider, Silika Silvercrest, and Eve Beaumont. Would that bother you and your mother?''
Ayla looked at him with narrowed eyes, causing him to think she wouldn't accept it, but that answer confused him as she asked him to take her mother.
But that's when he saw her start laughing before shaking her head. ''No, it doesn't. Many nobles have many wives. It happens in society as women outnumber men nowadays.''
The two strolled back to the mansion, and the setting sun warmed over the estate. Ayla, too, wore a soft smile, and the air seemed filled with a newfound ease.
