Weekend meetings with Richard at his estate were rare, but Martin's greatly appreciated them as they presented him with the opportunity to see Grace, opportunity to steal glances at her more than time would ever allow them.
She was right. Time was always so limited for them. So little, they clung for scraps of it. And while he understood her sentiments and need for more, he also wish that she'd understand the peculiarity of their situation.
Richard had called him over to discuss a new business venture, and as his attorney, Martin was there to provide his professional advice. Yet, as he pulled his car into the long, winding driveway of the Vice estate, his thoughts were divided; he couldn't help but wonder if he'd see Grace. Their last encounter had ended on a sour note, and he hoped they could make amends.
The sun was shining brightly, casting it's golden glow across the stately estate, but the tension in his chest overshadowed the beautiful summer day.
