The rhythmic tap-tap-tap of Nicholas's fingers against his keyboard echoed through the otherwise silent office. Papers were stacked neatly on his desk, testament to a productive morning. He was about to reach for another file when the office door creaked open and a familiar head popped in.
"Mr Vice? Have a minute to spare?" Grace, her usually vibrant eyes holding a hint of mischief, stood in the doorway.
Nicholas glanced up, surprised. They lived under the same roof, yet formal visits in his office were a rarity.
"Well, hello stranger. Do come in," he drawled, a smile tugged at the corner of his lips. It wasn't every day his sister ventured into his work territory.
Grace grinned as she entered the room, closing the door softly behind her before sauntering in, "Didn't expect to find you working so diligently." she said, a hint of surprise in her voice.
