Chereads / Married To Mr. Vice / Chapter 13 - Repulsed And Hated

Chapter 13 - Repulsed And Hated

Kimberly could swear that there was something wrong with Nicholas Vice. She was certain of it.

Not only was he insufferable and stupid, he was deranged. Her heels clacked hard against the floor of the parking lot with biting vengeance as she stormed towards her car.

She unlocked and hopped into it, and if it wasn't for the clear distinction of who the enemy was, she would have slammed the door.

"Asshole." She cussed, strapping in her belt and turning on the ignition.

"Double pigheaded asshole!" She hissed as she pulled into the driveway.

Not only was Nicholas Vice a disappointment, he was a fool!

The nerve he had storming into her office and laying more accusations!

She blackmailed Richard so could marry him? Him? Who did he think he was? Other than Richard and his sisters, who she believed were probably the only good things in his life, he was just a privileged fool who took advantage of drunken girls and knocked them up!

And knowing she was one of those girl made her blood seethe, and her skin crawl. She had never been this repulsed her entire life, and she had never felt she could hate someone this much till she met him. Because yes, she already loathed him. Him and his.... baby.

And Richard, he planned this? She still couldn't believe he was the brain behind it. Why would Richard even think of such a thing? If it wasn't for the anger and hatred she had seen in that fool's eyes, she wouldn't have believed him. But somehow she did, and she needed to know what Richard was thinking.

Too enraged and in need of an explanation, she dialled Richard's number again, but it went straight to voicemail.

That was strange. Despite her fury, she was beginning to worry. Richard never stayed away from his phone or company.

His health was frail, and she hoped—

Hating the thought, it trailed off. She was about calling his home when she saw Caroline standing in front of the hospital. She quickly called his home, but there was no response, and that made her brows knot tightly.

Setting a mental reminder to call again after her appointment, she pulled over at the parking lot of the hospital.

"Were you waiting for me?" She asked, walking over to Caroline.

Carol kissed her cheek. "No, I was seeing a patient off when I saw you driving in."

Kimberly slipped her phone in her bag. "Have you booked me in. I don't think I can wait any longer." She wanted this baby out in the next hour. That was just how desperate she had become.

Caroline carefully looked at her face. "Are you okay? You look a bit upset. Is something wrong?" She could tell there was.

The scowl plastered on her face was evidence of it.

"Can you believe that fool?" Kimberly hissed.

"Who? Your baby daddy?"

"Please can you not call him that?" Kimberly snapped at Caroline.

"Alright. I'm sorry. Who…."

"Who else but him?"

Who else can it be? Who else has successfully turned her life into a mess?

There was more anger in her voice since they last spoke, and Caroline took note of it.

"Did you speak with him again? Did he say something else to you?" She asked because it seemed he did.

"That fool barged into my office accusing me of blackmailing Richard into asking him to marry me. Can you believe it?"

"What?" Caroline flitted her lashes in shock.

"Not only that, he said I'm the reason his inheritance is being taken from him."

"His inheritance? How?"

"I don't know, but I have to talk to Richard. I've been trying to call him, but his number has been unavailable. That's also making me uncomfortable."

Yeah, Caroline remembered the man had a failing health. "I'm pretty sure he's fine if what his son said is true." She assured Kimberly, full aware of the fondness Kimberly had for him.

Kimberly sighed. "I hope he comes soon and tell me what's going on." She hissed again.

"Can we go in for the appointment now?" She'd rather not waste another minute carrying the child of a man who was fastly becoming the most hated person in her life.

"Yes, we can." Caroline replied and they started for the door. "I booked you in with Dr Addison, but first we have to get a consult regarding your result." She said. "And there's no negotiation about it." She added when she sensed a protest coming from Kimberly.

Kimberly would rather they got to the most important stuff, but knowing Carol, she knew she had no choice.

"Okay, but let's make it quick. I don't want it growing in me any more than it already has."

There was so much resentment in her voice and Caroline couldn't help but wonder if it was for the child or the father.

They waited in front of the elevator, waiting for a descending cab. "Are you really not going to consider keeping it? I still believe you can—"

"If there was any chance of me keeping it, it sailed when I discovered how stupid of a man the father was. So no, Carol, I'm not keeping the child of that brainless fool." She punched the button of the elevator and stepped in when it arrived.

Hesitant for a moment, Carol followed for her. "You must truly hate him." She said.

"Hate is a subtle word. I loathe the man and his entire existence." And if severing any ties she might probably have with him, involved looking past the anxiety gradually building in her mind and aborting this child, then she'd do it.

There was no doubt her mind was made up. She sighed. "Just so you know, the baby has nothing to do with your 'hate' for its father. You both made it. You had sex with him, so I don't need to remind you how much of your consent was involved in making it."

"He took advantage of me." Kimberly reminded her, and she'd rather see it that way. Because she was certain had she been sober, she'd never sleep with a man like Nicholas. Especially not when his appearance was just as repulsive as his brain.

"Right. But we both know, no one can really take advantage of you, not even if you're drowning in a sea alcohol." Caroline told her matter of factly.

Making a timely arrival, the door of the elevator opened and Caroline alighted, leaving a stunned Kimberly behind.

Soon she heard the sound of her heels, as she fell into step beside her. "You're supposed to be my friend in this situation." She said.

"And that's what I'm doing, Kim. Being a friend. Because only a friend will tell you the truth, and still support you when you're being too stubborn to see the truth."

Kimberly had something on her lips, but she stopped when Carol stopped in front of a door and knocked. "Dr Calhoun," She called.

Kimberly raised a brow. "Dr Calhoun? Isn't that the doctor you were asking about the other day?" She asked, whispering incase whoever was behind the door could hear her.

"Yes." Carol answered. "He's the head of the Ob/Gyn department, and he's the best in the country. I gave him the results of your labs and he'll be doing the consult." She said and opened the door when a response came from behind the door.
