It's been 10 Months since that fateful day the day when he sacrificed his powers to defeat Aizen, to Protect Soul Society, to protect His friends. If someone asks that did he regret his decision he will say he did but he will do it again without any hesitation if he has to do it again. But it Still did nothing to fill the void that has appeared in his heart or soul. During These 10 months he did not stop to train his mind and body in hopes that once his powers returns he will not be weaken.
He Started doing ZaZen and it did wonders for his mind and helped him realising many a things about himself one was that the old man wasn't truly the spirit of his zanpakuto
no he suspected it was the hollow side of him the white ichigo that was his zanpakuto spirit.
How he came to this realisation, well he simply thought about it 10 months of no hollow hunting and meditation so wonders for your time management after all.
He analysed all of his past battles and whenever he was close to dying it was the hollow who protected him whether via summoning the mask or via intervening himself. Whenever He was learning to use his zanpakuto it was again the hollow who taught him not the old man. When he was learning the final getsuga tenshou the old man or rather young Old man used White's help again. So it was clear that the old man wasn't his shinigami side of power his fighting style if ichigo analysed his correctly and ishida didn't lie to him about it was more akin to a Quincy.
It was simple reaching to this conclusion how well for starters whenever the old man used Getsuga instead of using his own reishi his blade absorbed it from outside. And he only saw one man do it.
So if his dad was a shinigami then his Quincy power must have come from his mother.That fact Alone make him happy as anything from his mother is something he'll treasure.
But more about his current situation he was currently packing his bag no not going on a vacation mind you infact he received a scholarship from the most famous school of Japan . Primarily it was an all girls school but they started going CoEd recently and he on instinct applied whether to take a breather from his life or to escape his current safe loathing only he knows.
