Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

The book of Destinies sat on the dusty shelf, a forgotten treasure waiting to be rediscovered. Its cover was worn and frayed, but its pages were as blank as the day it was first bound. That is, until a silhouetted figure approached, casting a shadow over the page.

"Ah, the book of Destinies," said a commanding voice. "How I've missed reading from your pages."

As if on cue, words began to fill the blank space, and a story started to spin. The Narrator's deep, familiar voice took hold, and the characters of the tale were born.

Suddenly, a second voice interrupted. "You're doing it again, honey," said Mrs. Narrator.Mr. Narrator was confused. "What? What did I do?"

"You know exactly what, Dad," their daughter Brooke chimed in. "Aren't you getting too old for this?"

The three figures moved about in the background, fiercely engaged in conversation.

But Mr. Narrator wasn't ready to give up just yet. "No, I don't think I am!" he declared, his voice full of conviction.

"Oh, come on, honey, you promised," said Mrs. Narrator.

"And what exactly did I promise?" asked Mr. Narrator.

"You said I was going to tell the next story this time around," Brooke interjected. "You promised."

"But I started the story already, dear. The readers know that," said Mr. Narrator.

Mrs. Narrator gave him a pointed look. "Honey..."

"Okay, fine," said Mr.Narrator, giving in to their daughter's request.

The pages of the book began to move with quickening speed until they stopped on a page. Pushing past the rough surface, it seemed like the characters were pushing through puffy clouds, and a burst of light swallowed the screen as they descended into the page.

"Welcome, everyone, to the world of stories," said Brooke.

"It's still as beautiful as ever," said Mrs. Narrator.

"But much has changed since you last came, Mom," said Brooke.

The land was now close, and the clouds dispersed as they fell faster. The kingdom settlements weaved around them, and everything looked modernist. Buildings and skyscrapers stretched far and wide, with a huge castle at its center.

"I don't believe it. Everything looks so amazing," said Mrs. Narrator.

"The fairytale world has come a long way since you guys left," said Brooke.

"Where's Cinderella's castle? That's the one I always loved," said Mrs. Narrator.

"Oh, I'm sure it's still around somewhere. But let's explore this new world first," said Mr. Narrator.

As they descended closer to the ground, they could see the bustling activity of the kingdom below. People walked around, cars drove on roads, and some even flew on broomsticks.

"Look at all the witches and wizards. They seem to be having so much fun," said Brooke.

"But where's the magic? I don't see any fairy dust or talking animals," said Mrs. Narrator.

"Oh, the magic is still here. It's just evolved into something new. Let me show you," said Brooke, before she was cut off by a sudden exclamation.

"What is it?" said Mr. Narrator, coming in closer to take a look.

"Oh my, isn't that..." said Mr. Narrator, before Brooke stopped him from spoiling it for the readers.

Mrs. Narrator breathed a sigh of relief. "That was a close call. You almost spoiled it for the readers," she said.

"Now, if our readers want to know what all the fuss is about, you better hold onto your crowns because this ending is just the beginning," said Brooke.

And with that, the Narrator, Mrs. Narrator, and Brooke set off to explore the magic and wonder of this new, evolved fairytale world.
