Chapter 41 - Unexpected News

The corridor was now a scene of stillness, punctuated only by the lifeless bodies of the Solara group members who had dared to challenge Daimon and Lilith.

As the echoes of battle faded away, Daimon stood amidst the aftermath, his crimson eyes surveying the carnage he had wrought.

A satisfied smile played upon his lips, a testament to the power he had effortlessly wielded.

Lilith, standing beside Daimon, regarded the scene with a mixture of curiosity and something akin to amusement. "You seem to have enjoyed that," she remarked, her tone light.

Daimon's smile widened, his gaze never leaving the fallen figures before him. "There's a certain thrill in unleashing one's strength without restraint. It's been a while since I've faced a challenge worthy of it."

Lilith's white hair shimmered in the dim light as she stepped closer, her crimson eyes fixed on Daimon's face. "You certainly made quick work of them. But then again, I shouldn't be surprised."

Daimon turned his attention to Lilith, his gaze meeting hers in an unspoken exchange of understanding. "You're not exactly a stranger to wielding power yourself," he mused.

Lilith's lips curled into a playful smile, a spark of mischief dancing in her eyes. "True, but there's a difference between wielding power and reveling in it. You seem to enjoy the latter."

Daimon chuckled, a low and rumbling sound that reverberated through the corridor. "Guilty as charged. There's something liberating about letting loose, even if it's just for a moment."

Lilith's gaze held a glint of intrigue as she continued to observe Daimon. "You've always been a mystery, Daimon. From the moment we met, you've been full of surprises."

Daimon's smile softened, his crimson eyes reflecting a depth of emotion that he rarely revealed. "And you, Lilith, have a way of keeping me on my toes. Your elegance and strength are a rare combination."

Lilith's expression shifted, her demeanor growing more serious. "You know, Daimon, despite our banter, I've come to respect your abilities. You're not just powerful; you have a wisdom that's been honed through centuries."

Daimon's gaze met Lilith's, his eyes holding a mixture of gratitude and introspection. "Immortality has its advantages. It gives you a perspective that mortal life can't offer."

Lilith nodded in agreement, her features softened by the faintest hint of a smile. "Indeed. But even with that perspective, there are moments when we still grapple with our own doubts and desires."

Amidst the weight of their conversation, the world seemed to recede, leaving only the corridor and the two figures standing within it.

Daimon and Lilith, their presence a stark juxtaposition of power and elegance, shared a connection that transcended the boundaries of time and space.

As their words wove an intricate tapestry of thoughts and reflections, a subtle shift in the air caught Daimon's attention.

A panel materialized before him, interrupting their exchange and drawing his focus. Daimon's crimson eyes also turned toward the panel, curiosity evident in his gaze.

Without hesitation, Daimon's gaze swept over the panel's contents:

[bloodline is reacting after killing a lot of enemies and frequent usage of blood arts]

[bloodline awakening could be undergone now by going to the awakening ground]

[teleport to the awakening ground? Yes/No]

[Note: can bring one or more people to share a bloodline with]

A knowing smile tugged at the corners of Daimon's lips as he read the words before him. He glanced at Lilith, his crimson eyes gleaming with a mix of intrigue and excitement. "It seems that the tower has something special in store for us," he mused.

Lilith, standing beside him, directed her gaze toward the panel as well. "What is it?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.

"It appears that my bloodline has been reacting to the battles we've been through and my usage of blood arts," Daimon explained. "There's an opportunity for a bloodline awakening, and we can be teleported to the awakening ground."

Lilith's interest was piqued as well. "A bloodline awakening? That sounds intriguing."

Daimon nodded, his excitement palpable. "Indeed. It's a chance to unlock more of my bloodline's potential. And the note on the panel suggests that I can bring someone with me to share the bloodline awakening."

Lilith's eyes met Daimon's, a glint of understanding passing between them. "You're thinking of bringing me along?"

Daimon's grin widened, his anticipation evident. "Who else would be better suited to share this experience with? Our journey may have been short, but I have a feeling it's about to become even more interesting with you by my side."

Lilith's own smile mirrored his enthusiasm, but as they prepared to leave, a question bubbled up within her. "Wait," she interjected, curiosity lacing her voice. "How is it possible for you to undergo a bloodline awakening? I've heard that only beings native to this tower can achieve that."

Daimon's gaze held a twinkle of amusement as he responded, "I may not be an ordinary vampire anymore."

Lilith's curiosity deepened, her expression mirroring her intrigue. "What do you mean?"

Daimon's tone carried a note of mystery as he revealed, "I've consumed a Vampire Core."

Lilith's eyes widened in genuine surprise, her voice taking on a hushed tone. "A Vampire Core? Do you mean the same cores that the tower's vampires possess?"

Daimon's affirmative nod only intensified Lilith's astonishment. "But how? And where did you get it? Have you already fought and killed tower vampires?"

Daimon's laughter rang out, putting Lilith's concerns to rest. "No, nothing like that. I obtained it as a reward on the tutorial floor. A rare and unexpected prize."

Lilith released a relieved breath. "So, you didn't actually kill any of them. That's a relief."

Daimon's amusement danced in his crimson eyes as he replied, "Indeed. I was just curious about its effects, and I can tell you they were remarkable."

Lilith couldn't help but shake her head in amused disbelief. "You're even more unconventional than I thought."

Daimon's grin remained unabashed. "Well, let's not keep the awakening ground waiting any longer."

With a shared sense of anticipation, Daimon stepped forward and chose the "Yes" option on the panel, signaling their readiness to be teleported.

The world around them began to shimmer and distort, and in the next instant, they found themselves in a vastly different environment.
