Chapter 4 - The Trials Unveiled

As the people who had chosen "Yes" on their screen panels vanished into the unknown, the city of Eldoria was left in a state of bewilderment.

Many were still trying to comprehend the gravity of the situation, while others anxiously awaited any updates or answers.

Governments of different nations held emergency meetings to discuss the enigmatic world towers that had appeared all over the globe.

Experts from various fields were called upon to analyze the data and make sense of this unprecedented phenomenon.

However, they were faced with a daunting realization – only the people who had entered the towers could save the world.

The media tirelessly reported on the events, their screens filled with speculations and theories, trying to provide some semblance of clarity to the public's burning questions.

But amidst all the chaos and discussions, the truth remained shrouded in mystery.

Meanwhile, Daimon found himself in a vast arena, reminiscent of the coliseum he had seen in his world.

The surroundings were grand, and an air of ancient magic hung in the atmosphere. In front of him, the familiar screen appeared once more, displaying mysterious words.

[Welcome to the World Tower]

[This place is the 0th Floor where you will be tested before entering the tower]

[This 0th Floor can also be called Tutorial Floor.]

[By beating this Tutorial Floor, you will obtain the power that will help you to climb the tower]

Daimon's eyes gleamed with curiosity and excitement. He had traversed the annals of history, and seen wonders beyond imagination, but this was something entirely new, a challenge that stirred his immortal heart.

Looking around, Daimon observed others, each encapsulated in their realm, facing their own unique challenges. Words of encouragement, fear, and determination echoed throughout the arena.

A woman stepped forward, her eyes determined. "I'm going for Hard," she declared. "If I'm going to save the world, I want to prove myself on the toughest challenge."

Another man chose Hell, his jaw set with steely resolve. "I want to face the worst this tower can throw at me. Only by conquering Hell can I be certain that I'm truly prepared."

A group of friends huddled together, discussing their options. "Maybe we should start with Normal," one of them suggested. "We don't want to bite off more than we can chew."

His friend, however, had a different perspective. "I say we go for EX," he exclaimed. "If we can clear the highest difficulty, we'll be hailed as legends!"

Each person weighed their own strengths and fears, contemplating the unknown that lay before them. The arena buzzed with excitement, and yet, an undercurrent of tension prevailed.

Daimon stood there, absorbing the conversations around him. His crimson eyes danced with amusement and anticipation. In a world where he had grown weary of predictability, this challenge was a breath of fresh air.

The screen panel before him displayed the same options for difficulty: Easy, Normal, Hard, Hell, and EX. While others debated their choices, Daimon let out a low chuckle, his hand stroking his chin in mock contemplation.

"You people have no idea," he began, his voice carrying a hint of mischief. "You stand on the precipice of greatness, and yet you hesitate. How dull it is to be ordinary, to play it safe."

He stepped forward, locking his eyes on the EX option. "I, on the other hand, am far from ordinary," he declared boldly. "Give me EX, the most challenging path. Let the tower throw its best at me."

Those around him exchanged puzzled glances. They saw him as just another participant, unaware of his true identity as an ancient being, a vampire who had witnessed centuries come and go.

"Why choose the hardest difficulty?" a nearby man asked, skepticism etched on his face.

Daimon grinned, a glint of his sharp fangs glistening in the arena's lights. "Because," he said with a flourish of his hand, "I am not one to shy away from a challenge. Mediocrity bores me, and I crave the taste of true accomplishment."

The onlookers couldn't quite grasp his unwavering confidence, viewing him as either a brave soul or a reckless fool. Little did they know of the power coursing through his veins.

As the participants made their choices, the arena pulsed with energy, each person's realm glowing with unique manifestations of their inner strength and fears.

The screen panel continued to offer its mysterious instructions.

[Please choose the difficulty of this stage]

Then the panel changed, presenting five chosen stages:

[Easy] [Normal] [Hard] [Hell] [EX]

Throughout the arena, conversations echoed, each person weighed their own strengths and fears, contemplating the unknown that lay ahead. The excitement was palpable, and yet, an undercurrent of tension prevailed.

Amid the chatter, Daimon found himself unfazed by the gazes of those who regarded him as a mere participant. He was not just anyone; he was an immortal, creature who had danced with danger countless times.

However, this challenge intrigued him like none other. He wanted to savor every moment of this experience. This was his chance to relish a thrill beyond the centuries of his existence.

When others had finalized their choices, Daimon still stood there, contemplating. He enjoyed the uncertainty around him, the curiosity of those who had yet to understand the true nature of this Tutorial Floor.

Finally, he made his decision, and a smile played at the corner of his lips. His finger pressed firmly on the EX option. This was no longer a matter of proving himself to anyone; it was a personal quest for the extraordinary.

"EX," he declared with a flourish. "Only the highest difficulty will satiate my thirst for the unknown."

Around him, people exchanged glances, some even eyeing him as if he were a madman. To them, he was a mere mortal with grand ambitions.

With each participant having chosen their own difficulty, the arena hummed with anticipation. Each person's realm glowed with a unique energy, tailored to challenge and test them in ways they couldn't comprehend.

The trials had begun, and the world held its breath, wondering what awaited those brave enough to venture into the Tutorial Floor.

The mystery of these trials was only matched by the enigma of the world towers themselves. The journey had just begun, and the path ahead was fraught with danger, excitement, and the promise of extraordinary revelations.
