"A momentary silence hung over the carriage; like it was pin-drop quiet in the middle of the night.

Alen exhaled while bending back. and gave his answer "It would be complicated."

"After all, it's a choice between one life versus thousands."

"But in the end, I'll save the one that is most valuable to me."

"Even if it costs the existence of reality itself."

A shutter shook the carriage, momentarily halting the conversation between Alen and Kael. The interior was briefly filled with the shuffling sound as the carriage came to a stop.

Kael and Alen remained seated, seemingly unaffected by the sudden halt of the carriage.

As the carriage came to a stop, the effects of the contract between Kael and Alen disappeared.
